These English provisions correspond to the Chinese terms. If wording differs, neither version removes rights that applicable law makes mandatory.
We process technical visit and security information, such as IP address, device and browser details, time, path, and server logs. Our self-hosted Umami service measures site traffic and basic referral/device/location information. Site code removes most query parameters before analytics events are sent, retaining limited campaign-source parameters, and reduces referrer URLs to origin and path. We do not send card numbers or passwords to analytics.
Where member accounts are available, we process the member name (your email address or a name you choose, which is also given to Stripe as the customer name) and email you submit, securely processed credentials, verification and session state, plan and entitlement state, the version and time of the terms you accepted, and subscription or refund records. Stripe handles payment details and supplies necessary customer, subscription, invoice, and event identifiers. We do not store full card numbers or CVV. We also process messages you send us. The public site does not currently collect newsletter signups; if this changes, the form will explain the use of your email and language preference. Member newsletters and new-article notices that we send manually contain an invisible measurement image, and their content links pass through a wecross.us redirect. We record whether each recipient opened the email, which content links they clicked, and when they first did so; we do not record IP address or device details for this. Test emails and account, payment, and subscription notices are not measured. If your email client does not load images, no open is recorded. Per-recipient open and click records are deleted 12 months after the email is sent; only per-email totals are kept.
We use information to operate the site, measure aggregate traffic, measure member email opens and clicks to improve article selection, order, summaries, and email layout, protect and troubleshoot it, respond to requests, create and verify accounts, provide paid access, administer payments and renewals, send service notices, handle refunds and disputes, and meet legal recordkeeping duties. Marketing communications are separate from essential service messages and will offer opt-out when launched.
The site, member app, and self-hosted analytics run on Tencent Cloud in Hong Kong. GoDaddy provides DNS, Resend sends account emails, Titan receives service mail, and Stripe processes payments. These providers may process necessary data in Hong Kong, the United States, or other places where they operate. We use appropriate provider safeguards and transfer measures where required by applicable law. We retain data only as needed for service, security, disputes, or legal and accounting duties; deleting an account or canceling a subscription may not immediately erase required transaction records. We use access controls, encryption in transit, backups, and incident procedures, but no system is perfectly secure.
You may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of applicable consent by emailing Service@WeCross.US. We may verify identity and account for legal, transaction, and security requirements. Depending on applicable law and location, you may have additional rights. We currently do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The service is intended for adult professionals, not children; contact us if a child's information was submitted. Third-party sites have their own privacy practices. Material policy changes will be notified or consented to when required.
